GIVING GIFTS NEVER GETS OLD FOR ME, {neither does receiving them, hehe} and neither does making gift tags and cards. now that shopping {or making} is on all of our minds, don’t forget the little touches that make a gift extra special – eh, hem, tags and cards – do you see where i’m going with this? check out all the new holiday lovelies in shop:
IT WAS A SUCCESS! my first craft faire went really well. we had fun with friends who came by to visit and some who stuck around for a few hours when it was slow. in all, it was definitely worth the hard work. i made great sales and new friends, and hopefully future projects will develop from new contacts. i can’t imagine doing renegade at this point though, with the workload that went into this tiny craft faire. we’ll just have to wait and see…
I’VE BEEN TRYING TO GET INTO THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT in preparation for the craft faire next weekend…and let me say, it’s really hard getting into it without a tree. i even bought a ‘holiday scented’ glade candle to set the mood. i think it’s working. three new note card designs added to etsy, more on the way: reindeer greetings, silver flurry, merry little circles.
we’re battling colds right now. first cold for wren, first cold for me in almost year and a half, and poor tommy is on his second cold within three weeks. lots of sleep, soup, oranges, vitamins, and jamba juice for us all, well except for wren, but i have been giving her little sips.
AS EACH MONTH COMES AND GOES, i’m have a harder time recording every milestone, not because i’ve lost interest, i just don’t have the time to sit down to write much anymore. i’m now chasing after a baby who is into EVERYTHING. earlier in the year while she was still in need of a tight swaddle and nursing every other hour, this point in wren’s development {having teeth, laughing hysterically, screaming ‘DADAAAA’ for Tommy, dancing, crawling} seemed like centuries away.
baby girl is getting big – her tummy is big, her legs are big, her personality is huge {strangers are no danger, she sees them as an opportunity to smile and point her little finger at them}. if a movie was made about her, the narrator would open the trailer with: “those thighs…that sass…” as her squishy baby thighs are pulled across the floor while her arms do all the work.
and the adorable little bunny teeth finally came in. no pictures yet because she won’t open her mouth wide enough or long enough to grab a shot. little booger! the two weeks of teething was exhausting. up throughout the night, the drool, face rash, hourly diaper changes…oh, did that feel like the early days all over again. and one afternoon BEHOLD two shiny teeth. then she proceeded to bite my finger, cutting the skin. and that’s when nursing became terrifying. not so much now…she knows better than to bite. good girl!
finally, a video just for gamma {or anyone else who might care}…a display of her upper body strength:
I CAN’T GET OVER HOW ADORABLE my brother and sister are in those pictures. look at the expression on my brother’s face…he must have just been busted for something. two of my favorite halloween memories: dressing up as a fairy princess, and as dancer with my sister {huge props to my mom with her creativity on those costumes – and look at our hair!}. another favorite, not even sure there is a picture, is when i was in the 3rd or 4th grade and dressed up as cleopatra – even had my hair cut short with perfectly straight cleo bangs. i won two different costume contests, one prize was a ‘don’t worry, be happy’ t-shirt. classic!
i’d give anything to have those argyle leg warmers right now.
I LOVE THE MORNINGS. especially cold mornings like today. huge cup of coffee, sun is warm through the windows, wren just went down for a nap. it’s quiet. i check my google analytics stats first thing – some people check the weather forecast, or email, or start their day with a morning constitutional – not me, just stats. what a weirdo. recently, traffic to magnificentbliss has frequently been coming in from this google search “most hated baby names wren”. sure enough if you google that, we come in third. nice! i get so excited finding little hidden treasures in my morning stat review.
