has it really been a month since i last updated…and christmas is next week? oy! the past month has been a whirlwind. we visited family in iowa for thanksgiving and got our cold weather fix – yeah, the crazy sanchezes love cold weather. our trip did put us back a week in decorating for christmas, a task we take very, very seriously. so serious, that tommy has been in a slump because the christmas lights on the porch are not cooperating {time to buy new lights}. to lift his spirits a little gift was left for him.

holiday gift tags are here – check out the three designs on etsy.
yesterday, i was attacked {in a good way} by the handmademovement.com and made 12 sales. prior to the attack i hadn’t made a single sale on etsy, so it was a boost to my spirits and a motivation to keep going with the online store. i have my work cut out for me and must finish up on packing and shipping out everything by tomorrow. it’s a nice change of pace to switch from delivering my work digitally to a tangible product made with my own child-like hands. yes, i have tiny fingers, perfect for tying ribbon on the tags.

it’s official. my stomach now rests on my lap when i’m seated. i also can’t bend over to put on my shoes, getting up off the couch hurts, and what a challenge it is rolling out of bed without falling over the side – i’ve completely lost my balance! uncomfortable times, but so worth it. her kicks, pokes, and hiccups are a gentle {not always so} reminder of why this is the greatest experience ever.
i’m at 27 weeks now. those are the only pictures I’ve taken {and not deleted} so far. now if only i would start documenting the belly more consistently. i took a few pictures in the early weeks of the pregnancy but deleted them because a.} i didn’t look pregnant and got really bored taking pictures of myself not looking pregnant, and b.} i’m too impatient to take pictures of myself with the timer and all the pictures tommy took i looked annoyed or just plain awkward. fact is, i can’t/won’t take a normal picture. i’m certain i’ll regret not taking more pictures, i’m actually starting to feel disappointed already. gotta get on that!

it’s been a sad time for us as we said goodbye to our dear misty last thursday. poor girl has been on a slow decline from kidney failure since january, but we were fortunate to have had a good ten months to spend with her in the end.
i hesitated to even post this because it’s just so sad for me to do. she’s been a huge part of my life for 18 years. she kept me company by sitting on my lap while i studied in junior high, high school and college, and in these final years when i sat at the computer doing work. sleeping by my side each and every night, as a kitten she’d bite and leave marks on my ankles. when i lived on my own after college, she started sleeping on my head, sometimes i’d wake up to her cleaning my forehead. for the past five years of being married, she slept on tommy’s chest {we called it domination}, or in between us stretched out, pushing us to the very edge of our side of the bed. as my stomach has been expanding recently, she would drape her little body over the bump – one time jolted awake from a baby kick.
misty could never be replaced and i’m finding very little interest now in ever getting another cat. we have belly, and she’s special in her own way, but misty will always be our #1 {we tell belly that she will only be #2, no matter how hard she tries}. what a good, long life misty had. i’ve been blessed to have had her for such a wonderfully large portion of my own life.

yes, i realize it’s been awhile, i have good reason, E-T-S-Y
i now have my very own shop. what a commitment it has been getting only a few designs finalized, printed, photographed, packaged, and posted. phew, lots of work! now if only i could make a sale {hint, hint} check it out: kristinsanchez.etsy.com
next on the list: christmas gift tags, everyday note cards, and some birdie drawings.
what does this mean for kristinsanchez.com? there will be a tiny redesign to the site to simplify things, remove old designs, and to make room for what will hopefully be a growing stationery business.
yeehaw!

introducing baby sanchez. she’s waving hello to you.
a week late in posting this {so sorry} we’ve been distracted with finding a name for the little one. how fun it was to see her moving around inside me — she’s growing healthy and has all her little fingers and toes {our toes to be exact, second toe longer than the big toe}.

misty: 18 years, magnificentbliss: 8. this site just might be around a little longer than misty though. it’s been rough year for her, hopefully not her last.
friends, magnificentbliss is back. the rest of the site is a work in progress, but at least this is a start.
visit tomorrow for some fun news.

really, i am working on updating this site — oh it’s so sad here right now, old words, broken links, deleted posts, much like walking into a dirty room and being annoyed with the mess you’ve made but not really having the time or care to do anything about it — uh, yuck.
“tsk, tsk, she’s let herself go”. at least that’s what you would think. oh, not true! just you wait.
a complete change in direction that’s so exciting and hard to contain. i don’t want to share anything just yet though. wait a little longer and you’ll see…
