this is a four-year-old’s interpretation of pointillism. i love how she connected some of the dots; by the way, she mentioned the lines are supposed to be water. i had the pleasure of showing three wonderful children some of georges seurat’s work last week, and then worked with them on creating their own pointillism painting. the youngest gave me her painting, and it’s now hanging on the wall, next to my desk – a beautiful, colorful source of inspiration.
i just saw seurat at the chicago museum over the weekend for the first time....it's so awesome! suzie | 5:55pm on 10/26 i love it when kids get art! ao | 12:33pm on 10/2 so, is it true that you ate food coloring and took a dump on the left hand corner of the picture, then kept flicking it off with your fingers? art, what a concept! vanessa | 5:53am on 10/1 if i could paint like that i would quit my job. yup steven | 10:16am on 9/30 dang, she's got skills. can you make me into a good artist too? jennie | 3:26am on 9/29 man, the cookies i can hang with.. this post - it's all jibberish. isn't pointillism what infected the spinach? i can't believe how non-artsy i am. i really wish i had more of an appreciation. jaime | 2:35am on 9/29 wow! it really is beautiful - she did a wonderful job! andrea | 2:13pm on 9/28 what a talented girl! the color she uses is really vibrant.. erika | 11:12pm on 9/26
