fact: if you slightly undercook a hardboiled egg and toss it into the microwave to harden it, when you remove the egg from the microwave and pierce it with a fork, it will explode. chunks of egg will be stuck to the ceiling, walls, your hair and face, blinds, window, the dining table clear across the other side of the room, and also lodged inside the coffee maker.
my fear of inanimate objects exploding has been actualized.

i exploded my first egg but i've cooked several now and think i have it down. take the egg from the refrigerator and wrap it in a paper towel abnd put it in a mug in the microwave. cook it 7 and 1//2 minutes on power setting of 10%. let it set for 20 minutes. presto! a perfect hardboiled egg! wally | 12:21am on 1/24 i used to eat eggs cooked in a micro daily. the trick is placing the egg in a mug, piercing the yolk with a fork a couple times, and covering the mug with a paper towel before nuking it. i have had too many explosive mornings before i figured out how to cook the perfect nuked egg. egg eater | 12:24am on 10/25 now i am curious to try it.. but i will have to do it outside. i don't need the extra mess inside.. :) jaime | 8:08pm on 10/24 eww that stuff does look nasty now that you mention it! that's tommy's melted iced coffee from earlier in the day. kinda makes me hungry for gravy, though. for the fun of it...you guys should seriously try the egg thing. although it's terrifying while it happens, it's fun talking about it afterwards. kristin | 2:48pm on 10/24 steve wanted me to ask you what the bottle of puke was in the picture? i did that once with some sweet and sour sauce when i lived with my mom, she found it in corners of the kitchen for months afterwards even though i thought i had clearly cleaned it up? strange how the microwave does these things?!?! stephanie | 12:32pm on 10/24
